We are looking at replacing the cylinders in the exterior compartments. We did not really want to replace them with the standard cylinders that Winnebago sells due to the fact that those keys can be gotten hold of quite easily. Has anyone managed to find cylinders that fit with keys that are perhaps not so "widespread"?

I am looking into having my Trimark Locks re-keyed by a locksmith.

I took a cylinder into a local locksmith and he fixed me up with 5 new ones keyed the same.  But you must understand the compartments are very easy to force open with a common screwdriver.  If I do not have anything of value I leave mine unlocked so when someone looks they do not destroy my compartment door.

Amazon has combination locks that are intended for these:  http://www.amazon.com/Combi-cam-Combination-lock-cylinder-length/dp/B000IGMP1S/ref=sr_1_3?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1371866218&sr=1-3&keywords=rv+locks

I bought one but have not yet installed it.  My thought was that I could hide a key to the coach door if I had at least one secure storage area.

They come in different sizes, so you need to get the right one.
