Hello! New to the forum and any help would be appreciated!

We had some issues with water leakage and delamination on one outer wall of our travel trailer. A friend of the family who is excellent in all things repair agreed to take on the removal of old fiberglass and put on new fiberglass as the trailer isn't worth taking in for repairs.

All layers of fiberglass have been applied without a hitch and a layer of gel was put over it.

What is the best way to get a smooth finish and fill low areas? Can Duramax or Everlast be used over the gel to fill and sand? And what would be the paint to follow?

Thanks in advance for any help!
(Yes, we realize this is better left to the professionals, but the trailer is just not worth thousands in repair. We figured it wouldn't hurt to at least try, and we have some fairly knowledgeable people on board, we just haven't worked much with fiberglass).
