I'm new to the forum! Have read some helpful info about importing but we purchased our RV in the USA in 2008 for about $33k and think it's currently worth about $15k.e have used it there for the past five years on and off but we are UK citizens and residents. If we import it do we still have to pay the same duties and vat as on a new unregistered RV, and are these based on original purchase price or current value?. Any ideas on cost of conversion to indicators (currently red and imposed on brake lights) and conversion of 110volts @ 30 amps to UK 240 volts and ?? amps.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi Stu,
Many thanks for your helpful response. Sorry for the delay - we're currently travelling the UK in our Hymer motorhome just 18 feet long, overloaded and underpowered. Very different from our Ford V8 Itasca with a Banks power conversion!! Now you know why we are considering importing our Itasca.
Thanks again David & Sandra Kempson.

There are a number of places in the UK to procure parts and repair/service for US-made RVs.

Don't you know anyone where it is you can "sell" it to.  They sit on it then "sell" it back that way you have a title on a used rv
