My wife and I are in the market for a diesel pusher 38-40'. Our budget is 50-65k. 2000-2005 models.
I noticed many different engines, chassis, and manufacturers.
I would like to know which brands are considered high end and reliable.
Also which engines are the best for towing?

Thanks.

When talking about used RVs IMHO the manufacturer and model are meaningless. The most important thing to me is the condition the RV is in. A high end and reliable RV that is not taken care of properly will not last very long. A low end RV that is really well taken care of can last a lifetime. Look at condition and forget brand name.

For towing in the mountains or towing in the east on flat land? For mountains I would get a diesel. Otherwise a gasser will do just fine.

Seilerbird is right about condition being paramount, but higher end brands generally have better quality materials, stronger chassis, and other positives. All the major RV manufacturers build a wide range of price and quality, so no single manufacturer is "best" in all parts of the range.
