Hi all,
I have a weird wiring issue.
I have a tent trailer with a 7 way RV plug (though no brakes) and am pulling with a Ford Escape. For some reason when I am towing the trailer it will suddenly lose some or all of the power to the lights. For example, the right indicator and brake lights will stop working. It is also affecting the car though it will "reboot" itself when disconnected from the trailer. Everything seems fine when I test the lights just through the battery and not running the engine.
The ground seems ok. I thought it may be a loose connection when I plug the connecter in and the lights will go off when I wiggle it but it seems weird that it would affect the tow vehicle like it does.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks.

Sometimes power circuits (particularly lights) are protected with an automatically resetting circuit breaker.  It might be you have an intermittent short circuit and the breaker resets when you unplug.  Just brain storming.
