I'm trying to find out if my diagnosis is correct for this issue. Generator runs fine with no load for several minutes or maybe an hour then stops. Before starting, I push the button opposite the start position for 5-10 seconds. I can hear the fuel pump run durring this time. Once started, if I load it by turning the AC or microwave on, it keeps surging up and down. Once it dies, if I push the button to the prime side, the fuel pump no longer runs like it did before I started it the first time. I would assume the fuel pump is bad and needs replaced. It likely is operating enough to run with no load when cool, but when it runs for a while and gets warm, it quits.
