When do I begin to look for the fuel filter?
Thanks!

Probably along the frame rail. Find the fuel tank and follow the fuel line forward.

Good advice as that is where it is located.  Also, you will need a special tool to replace it.  It should be available through any auto store or your Ford dealer.  Not cheap when I bought mine in '95.

Auto parts stores carry various kinds of the tool - from simple sets designed for limited use to professional quality everyday use.  I just bought a kit as a matter of fact for working on the Jeep.
