We are a family of four (two children ages 5&3).

We are planning a seven day trip from San Francisco to Las Vegas in late September in a rental rv.

We would like to take in Yosemite. Have read about routes via tioga pass.

Does anyone have any suggestions inc routes? We would like as much info as possible please!

Thanks

Joe

Tioga Pass will not be an issue in late September, so you have two options:

1.  Cross the Bay via either I-80/Bay Bridge or Hwy 92/San Mateo Bridge (depending on where you pick up the RV). I-580 East to I-5 South (or Hwy 99 South), and head towards Bakersfield. Take Hwy 58 over Tehachepi Pass to I-15, to Las Vegas.
On the way back from Vegas (I-15 to Hwy 58), go north on Hwy 395, and (eventually) take Hwy 120/Tioga Road over Tioga Pass. After you're done with Yosemite, continue west on Hwy 120 and head towards San Francisco.

2.  Essentially the reverse of (1) above. I-580 East to I-205. Take Hwy 120 towards Yosemite.

The above don't include all roads you'll take, but you can easily figure it out by looking at Google maps and getting directions for San Francisco to Las Vegas, then use the directions above.
