We are planning the following trip ( Albuquerque,N.M. to Towaoc,Co. to Hurricane,Ut. ) and our trip planner shows us taking N.M. 550, N.M. 64, N.M. 491 to Co. 160.

Then leaving Towaoc,Co. on Co. 160, Az. 98, Az. 89, Az. 389 to Ut. 59.

Is this the best route for driving a 35' class A with toad. Are there any steep grades or switchbacks.

Going to let Wendy who lives in the Cortez area confirm this, but I thought there was some serious construction on the AZ 89 part. Most of the rest of that I have driven in a much larger coach without issue.

I'm guessing you mean Towaoc, where the Ute Mountain Casino is located ? Just curious if there's a reason why you're going to Towaoc as it's not very exciting and is kind of off the route going to Hurricane.

The route you have listed is a very pretty drive, some canyon ups and downs, mostly two-lane, nothing difficult. We've done it many times in our 28-foot Class A towing a VW. There is a steep hill dropping down into Hurricane with a stop sign at the bottom but it's ok. The road damage on Hwy 89 is on a section you won't be traveling but there is road construction on Hwy 491 near Towaoc.

Enjoy the trip.

Yes, we are going to the casino and  I meant Towaoc but my Older semi-fat fingers hit  the wrong letter. Thank you for the route info..

BTW, most of the highways you have on your route are U.S. highways, not state highways. Just so someone doesn't get confused looking for those highways.

Nice campground at the Ute Mountain Casino. There are also a couple of good boondocking spots near Lake Powell.

It's a great route. Enjoy the trip.
