Oh, I love my air horns!  Don't use them very often, but every now and then someone is entering a freeway who is so busy talking to the passenger that he/she doesn't even know a big vehicle is bearing down on them.  The air horn certainly does wake them up!

Hubby said they can only haul 40 tons unless they have a permit and he says that's gross.

I thought the electric rod in the water heater didn't work, hubby showed me it did.  He said the water heater is in really good condition.

Also found the bypass valve for the water heater.  He said take out the rod and drain the water heater, then go ahead and run a bit of the antifreeze in it, then bypass it. He showed me how to do it.

I said if I see the weather conditions from Houston up are going to be frigid I just won't put water in the tank and can winterize it while down there. We can stop at a hotel and stay 1 night while driving back up here even though I have bay heaters, at least that is one option.

PS I still want air horns, waaaahhh! :'( :'( :'(

They're nice, and they do get people's attention. I've known people who had them on pickups. Go ahead and get them fixed; I think they belong on large rigs, not just trucks (that's the only kind they supplied on my Patriot).

Hi Caroline,  re truck weights. I respect your hubbies opinion but you might look at the link below.

Limitations on wight are outlined and show the various size semi's.

Total on the road weight not only covers a loaded trailer but also the weight of the tractor. Even then add a case where dual trailers are pulled and you will see that my estimate is well within the possible mass/weight of a moving semi.

No need for antifreeze in the water heater.  Turn on the bypass, drain it and leave the plug out and it will dry out.  Just remember to put the plug back in and turn off the bypass when you reactivate it.

No need to ruin a filter. Just remove the element fron the housing before running the pink stuff in (assuming you have a standard filter) or, for an inline filter, replace with a short length of pipe.

We were air horn deprived when we traveled in the Bounder.  As we pulled into George and Lucy Aker's place one Christmas with Fred and Daisy and Jim and Pat Dick heralding our arrival with their air horns, our little "beep beep" just didn't cut it!  ::)

I have this anemic little horn on the steering wheel.  I honk it and it sounds so funny with my big old motorhome.  Kind of like the sound Beep Beep in that song!

We were at Wetnights picking up some parts today and Tom points out this breathtaking beauty.  A 2007 Fleetwood Revolution LEN with 4 slides.  :'( :'( I looked it up, no price listed.  I told him DO NOT show me something like that, I can't handle it.  They had a 2005 Beavor Patriot listed for $159k.  Beautiful machines for sure.

And I'm saying NO, NO, NO!  Do not bring temptation in, please!

Not at this time.  Perhaps if we get our house in Houston sold and some other property down there.  Spent way to much this year on a new metal roof and car have to have a bit of restraint.

There will always be beautiful motorhomes for sale and good deals pop up from time to time.

Workingtorv, Tom, got a kick out of that. He said it sure would. ;)

He said he is likely not going to have time to put the base plate on the caddy till next spring.  I have no problem with that, my Saturn is still a good car.  We are going to wait till then and going to sell the Saturn and also the one landscape type trailer we bought to use in moving.  We are so overloaded with vehicles and things going to try to get rid of some.

Even though we thinned out greatly to move once the 14 X 28 addition is on the garage, Tom is going through everything again and organize everything. (Yes, he admitted it wasn't big enough, remember who tried to get him to build it bigger)  All we could do was put up shelves and unload it.  He still has his work cut out for him for a year or more.

Yes, they are a fine coach too, one of those really good ones.  However, for now I will use my old Eagle.

Maybe the future will allow us to have a newer one.  This one could use a repainted front cap but its just not worth all that much money so really hate to do that.  The sides are fine, the back around the tail lights could use some repainting..  There is one place on the fiberglass at the bottom curve in the front that needs repaired, someone had scrapped it on something before I had it.  Tom can do fiberglass repair too.

We need to get those houses sold.  I don't understand why they haven't sold, our house is nice down there, updated, and on 1.6 acres, close to the Woodlands and close to the new Exxon Mobile campus.  It has 2 garages, other outbuildings, a motorhome carport, a rental mobile as part of it with storage building.  Fenced, a new well, metal roof, new energy efficient furnace, dual pane windows, totally new kitchen, a new bathroom, and half bath, etc.  I have never had a problem selling any of our homes.  The only thing I can figure is they are seriously overbuilding and our house is old so folks would rather have new, that is understandable.  it has been listed for almost 5 months now.  We still have our home, a duplex, and a small rent house plus some lots to sell down there.

Tom bought me a Rand McNally RV GPS, going to hook it up and see how it does.  He thinks it will be better then my Tom Tom.

We shall see.

I am still learning, I was concerned about coolant level and was adding to the overflow.  Tom showed me where there is a clear bubble, its called a sight glass and if its green the coolant level is ok.

He hasn't had the time he wants to go over everything.  He also found that we have a tru steer on the front, whoops called a Saf T Plus.

All I can say is I have been lucky, I realize there is so little I know about this motorhome but I'm still learning.

This time I took the Premium Coach Net service.

Well durn, off to outpatient surgery Saturday AM.

The mass on my finger turned out to be a tumor, had an MRI done.  The MRI doc thinks carcinoma, the hand specialist thinks its a benign tumor.  Guess I will find out next week after its biopsied.  Sure going to put a crimp in things for awhile.  I wanted to wash the motorhome down and wax it.  Have a lot of alterations I wanted to do now its getting colder and I'm inside.  Will see how it feels Monday, need to take the MH up and have the rest of the stuff done, but now concerned about being able to hook up the toad.

Thankfully its the left index finger and I'm right handed in case more is needed.

Such is life, things happen and Tom and I have been beyond fortunate, hope that good luck continues.
