We sold our fifth wheel and now we are looking for a truck camper. Next year we Will travel from Pa to Calf and back.
I have the bed rails for my hitch in the bed. Do I need to remove them?

When I was living in a 5th wheel and acquired a slide-in camper, I took a full size sheet of plywood and made cutouts to match the rails so it would sit flat in the pickup's bed.  This made a flat surface for the camper to sit on.

My camper was an older model and only used a sheet of plywood for it's floor.  I was concerned about getting matching bumps in the floor if I set the camper on the protruding hitch rails.

The extra sheet of plywood worked fine, but it you're sure you won't be going back to a 5th wheel, I'd remove the hitch rails.
