I haven't researched to see if this statement is fact or fiction, but Holy Crap, how could WM NOT decide that they were in the wrong environment with those restrictions on a low margin retail operation.

Why is it so many folks resent success?  Long Live Walmart.......

People do not resent success in and of itself.  With Wal-Mart, it's a matter of cost of that success.

Hopefully, we can disagree, but not be disagreeable.  Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas to you and yours, and I hope someday we can meet and solve the worlds problems in person.

You bet friends, I look forward to that day as well.  :)

The big difference I see with loss of unions and organized labor is people are going backwards fast. My dad made more per hour back in the 60's then people do now. The country was the better for it.

Detroit?

I'd be really interested in how anyone can rationalize that Detroit's problems are due to a LACK of unions. If anything,  I'd argue it was the reverse case.

Martin Niem?ller (1892-1984) was a prominent Protestant pastor who emerged as an outspoken public foe of Adolf Hitler and spent the last seven years of **** rule in concentration camps.

Niem?ller is perhaps best remembered for the quotation:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

What did it cost me? Ahhhhh the Pepsi Generation I got mine you get yours.

I would say 99% of the people on this blog made this country great and what it is or was today.  We were not perfect but we did the best we could with the knowledge and abilities we had.  Someone said we have become politically correct, we have and we do not want to hurt people's feelings.  We have become greedy we have [and I use the word WE (USA)] we better wake up if WE want to live as good as the 99% of the people in this blog.  Keep Christ in Christmas  keep religious freedom, Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
