Just perusing this video a bit.....and I'm stunned by the ratings.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxOsbMZ3U1Q

Payload  7374 lbs
Conventional Towing of 19,600 lbs
Fifth Wheel towing of 23,200 lbs

From a 2500 series truck???

Wow.....

IMO the spokes person mis spoke and possible had his  payload numbers mixed up with the 2500 vs the DRW truck. For 2014 and 2015 GM shows the same 6200 RAWR.

According to this, those are the maximums available for the Silverado line.

"Maximum available payload is now rated at 7,374 pounds, the best for any HD pickup, up from 7,222 pounds.
Maximum available conventional towing is now 19,600 pounds with the available factory hitch, up from 18,000 pounds, and is now best-in-class.
Maximum available fifth-wheel towing is 23,200 pounds, up from 22,500 pounds."

Yep...and this is how the sly trailer salesman will sell you a trailer that is way too heavy for your truck.  They quote the "maximum" payload or tow weight for the line of truck (Ford, Chevy or Dodge...whatever you are driving or looking at), then make it sound like you can tow that.  Even though your truck is not equipped to tow what he is trying to sell you.

OK, now it makes more sense....they are quoting DRW 3500 ratings while looking at the 2500 truck.  Nice.  Still, good ratings for the 2500.
