I have been addicted to watching the Olympics since the 60s and the current Olympics are the best I have ever seen. I am not talking about athletic performances or medal counts, I am talking about photographically. The entire Olympic venue was built from scratch to be a TV studio. Every shot is in focus, exposed properly and composed perfectly. Every frame looks like a postcard.
 
You are right, Tom. 50 years ago (the sixties) I was in the TV broadcasting business. Cameras in those days were still running on Vacuum tubes, recordings were on Tape, Transmissions were via microwave, playback of tapes on Vacuum tube machines...no wonder they are better now 50 years later. Been there done that. A lot of advancement in technology in the meantime..step by step.

 
I lived 50 miles north of LA during the 84 Olympics. What I am seeing on my TV is light years better than what I saw in 84. And these Olympics are happening a half a world away. :) :)
