Ron and the Moab-ites,
sorry for not making the Campfire last night. My calendar on my phone reminded me of the time but I was heads down - tail up building a web site and just too frustrated to chat nicely ROFL.
Those photos are just something else, I really wish I was there with you but at least, like Smokey, I can see the pics and join with you in the fun. Please keep the pictures coming, they just make my day whenever I see them.

Most of the Moab group attended the local movie theater last evening to see the new "RV" movie starring comedian Robin Williams. So we weren't at the VC either

Tom,
The pictures of the Long Canyon road/drive remind me of the road we take after the 9am service at St. Ann's in the Glencoe area of Lincoln county. That road, up Diablo Canyon, has a county designation which means they have graveled it and put a cement bottom in the bottom of the creek bed when the road crosses it and poles with the feet marked up to 6' for when flood water come rushing down.
This road heads NW and cuts 25+ miles off of our return home and avoids both Ruidoso and ruidoso Downs and the tourist traffic.It crosses a high ridge and then the road passes Ft. Stanton, a civil war era fort that was used as a POW camp for Germans in WW ll and several years ago Spielberg used it as the HQ for the filming of his mini series on the west. It's beautiful country. I hope some framily will take advantage of our knowledge of Lincoln County and both the US 70 and 380 Corridors.
We'll be on that road Sunday, thinking of all y'all!
