We are heading to Alaska this summer. We know the phone service is pretty sketchy at best but we are curious what people are using with best results. We currently have service with T Mobile and AT&T & Verizon for IPads.

Put SKYPE on the pads and you are about as good as it will get.. or if you have a Mi-Fi or other teatherable service set up the phones to use Wi-Fi calling via the pads if you can.

Between those 3..  There are not many places you will find a working carrier that one of them won't work. (I do not know but in the old days Sprint owned Kalamazoo, County, MI.. This, of course, is due to bribes and kickbacks and thus illegal.. I suspced at least one of the others has done some major work on those commissioners)
