The Arizona Department of Transportation is replacing or making major repairs to seven of the eight bridges within the Virgin River Canyon.  This is a 36-mile stretch of I-15 that crosses the very northwestern tip of Arizona between Mesquite NV and St. George UT.  These projects will stretch over a couple of years so we can expect some delays.  They are going to try to keep open one lane in each direction, however there will be exceptions when both directions may be shut down.  Apparently there was an accident recently that blocked both lanes and traffic was delayed for a couple of hours.

Anyone driving from Las Vegas up to Utah should be prepared to go slow and have delays.  This will affect people going to Zion National Park and up to Salt Lake City because there really are no alternate routes suitable for large vehicles.
