Work looks like it may take me to Vegas  :D and also open the opportunity to dive into the RV thing.  But, as I'd be a rookie...I have no idea where to even begin to look for places to live.  I've googled and found a few "parks" but figured y'all might have some better recommendations.

Close proximity (say 30 minutes driving or less) to the airport would be great.  Affordable is always a consideration, but safety is too, of course.

Thanks for any recommendations.

This is very true, take it from a Las Vegas Native, you don't want to live in a motor home in Las Vegas in the summertime.

There are some full time places in Lost Wages,  One I will tell you about is "Covered Wagon" on Bolder,  They have a 10 year rule, even though the campground itself was not in that great a shape when I was there and they pack 'em in like sardines so close you can not open an awning.  I'd avoid that one.

I do not know if Oasis (Just off Las Vegas Bvld) allows full time but they are more expensive.  Also one of the nicest Campground I have seen.

Hitching Post is on the North side of Las Vegas.. Looked rather nice when I toured it, Gated,  Gets lots of construction workers and the like that are long term parkers.  Alas no room for my rig when I needed it.

If you do not mind moving every once in a while,, Campgrounds at many Casinos, and other campgrounds as well, all over the place.

When wife and I took a tour of Thousand Trails, At the time they were a "Members only" outfit, the sales agent ask "What would it take to get you to sign"  My wife responded "A camp ground in Las Vegas" (since that is where our daughter lived at the time)  Guess what.. they have one.  It is on Bolder between Bolder Station and Sam's Town.

Well, the sites there too are tight, Power is 30 amp (But in the hot months he will let you double up with a cheater box) but most TT parks now offer annual lease agreements as well. AND are open to the general public.. You will have to check with the manager if you want one.

Also there was a campground 2 doors south of TT-Las Vegas was a somewhat nicer campground (Hidden valley or some such) But I'm not sure they survived.. Seems when I returned the next year they were closed.

Most RVs are not designed to be in 115 degree heat!  If you're going to be working in Las Vegas, get an apartment.  It will be a lot more comfortable during the summer.

I've stayed a couple of times at Kings Row RV Park, on Boulder Highway just north of where the I-95 freeway crosses it.

It's an older mobile home park that's been family owned for 50 years.  They've cleared out the front half of the park and rent the spaces out to RVs.  The rear half has well kept older mobile homes.

Pricing is reasonable at $18 per day, $79 a week or $340 a month.  The daily rate includes electricity, weekly and monthly rates don't.

But it's a dry heat!  ;D

Okay seems like the consensus is to grab an apartment.  I guess I'll have to look that direction if this happens.

Thanks!  While I'm at it...  Is it generally easier to winter in an RV than to deal with the heat of a place like Vegas or S. Florida?

RVs don't do well in either temperature extreme - heat or cold.  That's part of the reason snowbirds go south for the winter and north in summer.

That's why we go to Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Montana, and so forth every summer in the MH...to escape the Las Vegas heat.

I spent 15 mo (nov 2010 to  end of Jan 2012) at Oasis and out of all the parks I loved it.
1 location was perfect for me.
2 Safe.
3 People were great. Both the full timer in the park and workers.
4 $500 a mo plus elec I was well under 700 a mo.
You can move up to more $ lot, they were bigger and had grass. I was in the cheap seat (#500) lot I was up near I 15 and there was no noise with the cinder block fence. Nice pad. Good power even in the summer. Two pools a hot tub. Nice little store, Bar and grill, workout room. As for living in the camper in LV heat? Well I had a 1984 27' HR Aluma-Lite. I had no issues. 1 A/C would keep me cool no problem. I had Window Awning they where a great help and so was my main awning. When the sun was beating down it would drop the inside temp considerable. But a word to the wise?.. LV is a windy place. Have your awning secured and don?t leave it out unattended even for 5 mins. (don?t ask me why I know this). Enjoy !! People told me the LV is an unfriendly  place. I found that to be untrue. Been Here 4 yrs have better and more friends than I ever did back in a suburb of Chicago.

Oh forgot, You said near Airport. Could be there in 10mins or less!

i agree with Mike, Oasis was a wonderful place.  and they were redoing the pool as i was leaving there the last time (march-ish)  it had a great location, close to airport and down the road from the Strip.  I dont know how the prices compare to other places tho

When I go to Vegas in the Summer time I like to stay at the Extended Stay America.  It has a hot tub, work out room, and swimming pool.  No gaming so it's pretty quiet.  There's so much to do in the area, Vegas is right in the middle.  Zion National park is a nice ride north, I drive up, hike up Angles Landing, and I drive back same day.  Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead recreational area, Hover Dam, etc., lots to do there.  The Extended Stay's have been less than $200 a week for me, and if you stay and pay for a month, you don't have to pay all the taxes.  I've paid for the month, and left after three weeks and it was cheaper than paying for three weeks, because of the taxes.  I stay at the one on S Valley View, I don't like the others.  This one is close to I-15, and it seems to be in the middle of everything.  The staff is nice, and I feel safe there.  They have two bedrooms with an efficiency kitchen.  It might be good just for you to check out the area, and see where you really want to stay while you're out there.
