Hello,  I purchased a used Winnebago View 2006 that has rusting, spalling, and cracking at the seam joint between the coach and the body chassis.  I took the vehicle to an RV shop that repaired and caulked leakage around the skylight (which they believed to be the cause of the problem).  I need to scrape out the old caulk, rust and metal fragments.

Does anyone know what tools one would use for this task as well as what type of caulk to reseal the seam?  I have attached a picture to show what I am referring to.

Thanks

Hi I used whatever worked , screwdriver, scrapper, utility knife blades, once you remove it all, clean good with some thinners or tsp then a good caulking like dicor. I would try and stay away from silicone based stuff and use stuff made for the rv world.  Good luck  SNO
