We are camped at El Portal, CA.  We got here via route 99 from Fresno to Merced and 140 to El Portal.  I really don't want to return to Merced and 99.  It has been suggested we go west to Mariposa then 49 to 41 toward Fresno.

I'm not familiar with route 49.  The Park Ranger says 41 is fine.  38' MH pulling a jeep liberty

Can anyone advise?

Both 49 and 41 are fine for a big motorhome. You should have no problem. And it is mostly all downhill from Yosemite to Fresno. Beautiful route too. 8)

  Just made that drive in October in a 34' MH pulling a Ford Edge toad.  No problems at all.  Even had a little early snow on the road and still no problems.  A few slow turns down to 5-10 mph, but not too many, and as Tom said, a beautiful drive.
