Las Vegas CG?

We are looking for a good place to stay at Las Vegas.  We rejected Circus Circus KOA because the offer nothing but solid asphalt for $50 a night.  If we are going to stay on solid asphalt, we are giving serious consideration to Main Street Station that has full 50 amp hookups at $17 a night.  But no swimiming pool.

Any other suggestions?
 
I think it's all a matter of price.  IMHO, the best two locations in LV are Oasis and Outdoor Resorts - Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort.  As the name implies, LVMCR is for motorcoaches only, over 30'.

I believe both of them are in the $50/night range and are located South of the Strip about 3 miles.  The both offer full hookups and lots of amenities.

Well for sure if we go $50 it will not be KOA but one of the two you mentioned.  The $17 Main Street Station is still singing to me though. 

I guess the deciding factor will be the one that is most tolerant of outdoor music.  After 3 months of solitude, we are in a PARTY mood!!!  ;D

If you are a member of RPI (Resort Parks), you can get the Outdoor Resort for $10 a night - we're staying for a week in late October.

Main Street Station won't care if you make noise....it's one of the noisest campgrounds I've ever been in. It's right under the freeway and across the street from a very busy station. We stay there often...cheap, allows dogs of all sizes, and close to the Plaza where we go to a convention every year. But I really wouldn't recommend it unless you have compelling reasons to stay there.

Hi Paul,

Are you sure it's Outdoor Resorts in Las Vegas (on Arville?)  I've never heard of that price or the association with RPI.

Now, that makes sense, even though it's dirt cheap for that resort!

Send me a note when you get in town.  We live at Outdoor resorts when we're in town and should be there by then 

There's a pretty good place for a pint or four nearby!  ;)

Main Street Station has a campground?  I find no mention of it on their web page.  I'm going to need a place to park for a week or two here and there in the LV area this winter (Plan on Dec in LV, Jan "South of de border" (NV/AZ border that is) and back to LV for feb 1-14 then back home... slowly

It's a local secret but I guess I can tell you. They don't advertise, there are no signs on Main Street directing you to it. To make reservations (recommended because it does fill up), call Main Street Station and ask for campground reservations. If you're looking for it, you go north on Main Street and it's the first driveway on the right after you pass under I-515, across the street from Main Street Station's parking lot. You drive through an empty parking lot to get into the RV park. It used to be part of the California RV Park which was very nice and had a swimming pool. But they took the south half of it (where the swimming pool was) and turned it into a parking lot, keeping the back (north) half as a hidden trailer park.

We have friends with a 45-foot Monaco, towing a Jeep, and they stay there but always make sure they are going to be in the middle pull-thrus. There a lots of smallish back-ins.

Oh, and they have a fenced in dog run under the freeway.

But don't expect anything approaching quiet......freeway, busy fire station, traffic on 2 side roads, Smokey partying.......

And you can walk there from the campground. And you can walk to the Fremont Street Experience. And you can get the cheapest Shrimp Cocktail within walking distance at Golden Gate Casino. But quiet, it ain't.

When it comes to resturants.  Been there, tasted that.  December won't be my first trip to Vegas (Depending on how you count it's my second or third)  Spent a week longer in Vegas than expected last January when the rig had to be fixed under warranty.
