If you haven't been there since December John, lots of changes ;) I go there every few months and the changes are unbelievable....not all for the good :) Seems like the traffic gets worse and worse even with the all out effort to build and improve the roads. Seems like I'm always saying " hey, where did the old....go?"  ::)

One of the first things I found when I got to Vegas was a road that PARRALLELS Las Vegas Bvld.

Suddenly I could get around like greased lightening compared to everyone else, trips that took the average tourist 30 minutes took me closer to 3.  And I was only about 1/4 mile away!!!!!!

Yes, I know that town is changing fast.  however I can only go out there during part of the year right now and likely should not go in December... Except I WANT to

The 215 now goes into the 95 at Lake Meade....that is more or less finshed. Makes for an easy trip to Fry's ;D ...also easy for Harbor Freight on Decatur.  However 95/15 was a nightmare, depending on the time of day. Got wrapped up in it last month. I am always amazed at the growth...blowing up million dollar buildings to build billion dollar ones...only in Vegas. Personally I think they are growing too much, too fast. Liked it as it was several years ago. The only thing constant there is change ::) .........
Shouldn't have much snow in December ;D

Fry's and Harbor freight!  In Las Vegas?  Oh boy!  How do I get there!! ??

Frys is just off the freeway (I-15) not far north of i-215 if memory serves, It will be on teh east side of I-15

Harbor Freight,,, Haven't been to that one

Harbor Freight is on Decatur, near the Home Depot. Exit off the I 215 and head North on Decatur...it will be on the right side. Hard to see because it sits back away from the Rd. Look for the Home Depot and plan to slow down. It is just past Tropicana. Yeah, Fry's is at Las Vegas Blvd and I 215. Exit off the I 215 and head N. on Las Vegas Blvd. It will be on your left. Hard to see, but keep the eyes open....Also there is an Amateur Radio Supply on Polaris?

It's a local secret but I guess I can tell you. They don't advertise, there are no signs on Main Street directing you to it.

Wendy, I'd like to thank you.  I have reservations at Main Street starting Dec 5 and going 2 weeks, then I have reservations elsewhere in Vegas, Then I have reservations in California, then it's on to QZ.

The price was the best I found in many calls, E-mails and web page visits as well

So thanks for the info

John,

Glad you're set up with the Main Street campground. But remember, fancy it ain't. How many shrimp cocktails can you fit in your freezer and bring to Quartzsite?? Oh, never mind, I'll be there in February....better make a reservation, it's race week when we're there.

Fancy I don't need.  And as for quiet, I run a couple of fans all night (or can just run the AC on Fan only) which makes enough noise inside to mask a lot of outside noise.

Walking distance to Freemont St is nice (Though it appears from Streets and Trips I'm a on the other side of the main building from Freemont)

I like the price.

And they told me 50 amp full hookup for <20/night

In Feb I will try for reservations elsewhere (Membership place I'm a member of) If I can get in there it's better.  Though it's a bit farther out from the strip

You walk down Main Street a couple of blocks to the beginning of Fremont Experience (directly across from the Plaza). Or you can duck under the freeway, through the California parking lot and then through the California to get to Fremont. Easy walk either way.

Enjoy

Wendy:

Have you ever been on Freemont at night after 8 pm?

They have the most awesome light show I have ever seen.  Hard to describe.  It must have cost a fortune to install.  Runs for about 8 blcosk from the strip and is computer synchronized with music.

the only thing I saw that might equal it was the fountain show at Bellagio.  and I say "might".  :D

Smoky, We have a Coca-Cola collectors convention at the Plaza every odd year so, yes, I have seen the Fremont light show, many times. One of the bennies of staying at the Main Street RV Park is that you can walk to Fremont. Of course, I prefer the old pirate show at Treasure Island.....can't beat a half-naked pirate for a fun evening.

Wendy:

Wanted to congratulate you and your Broncos.  Just checked the ESPN power rankings and the Broncos are in 2nd place right behind the Colts.  Bears slipped from 1st to 3rd and are headed back to reality.  Ravens moved up to 6th so watch your back!! ;D

Poor Arizona is 32 out of 32.

Wendy,

That Mike will do about anything to make you happy :)

33 years and counting.....thanks to the naked pirate. er, Marine.

As for my Broncos, they still have time to trash the season......as history has shown. I love my Broncos but by expecting the worst, I'm thrilled with pretty much whatever they do.

Wal-Mart parking lot in Durango, Colorado

It's Durango, Tom. Not many places safer than here. Besides, we have Sam to protect us....nothing like a LOUD dog for protection.

Ah yes, I forgot about Sam. He'd lick any intruder to death  ;D

we LOVE Main Street Station - and no idea they an rv park.
the food and beers at 777 brewpub are GREAT!
I only have 30amp for my rv- do they have 30 amp plugs
on their pedestals for power?
we used to stay at the old Showboat, later changed to Castaways, down Fremont a ways.
great little park - clean and friendly, but sadly it closed when the casino and hotel did a few years
ago. I hope it re-opens again one day, nice rv park with the casino across the parking lot.
thanks for info about the 30amp connection, if anyone can help me on that.
