Thinking of venturing up to upper New York, looked at Lake George area. Has anyone workkamped in any place in the upper part of New York? Or, recommend any place. Would also consider any part of the New England area. Thanks ! This would be our first experience, still learning the ropes.

We've workkamped near Lake George, NY (Daggett Lake Campsites) and in Rockport, Maine (Camden Hills RV Resort). As well as other states. I don't think the location makes much difference - you have to assess the work expected vs the remuneration received, and the desirability of spending months in that area. The most common reason for dissatisfaction among workampers is their own failure to ask enough questions about the work expected of them and the compensation to be received for it.

Check out workcampingjobs.com there is no fee for joining and lots of jobs posted every month. Take Gary's advise and make sure you know exactly what is expected and what you are getting in return, it will only make the experience better.
