Yesterday I attended a concert by the Summerset Singers, a local mixed choral group of over 80 members directed by our Delta Strummers uke band Music Director. The concert was held at a performing arts center in a nearby high school, and I especially wanted to check out the venue. It's a 500-seat theater with a wide stage, and every seat in the house has a great view. They also have an OK audio system.

The sound and lighting was being managed by students, although they needed some help from the Singers sound guy.

I sat in the back row, but there were a few "obstacles" to taking good photos. "Straight on" from the center, several mic' stands and other junk were in the way. When I moved to a side aisle to miss the junk, it wasn't the best "angle" for the shot. Lighting was also a challenge.

We're hoping that the Delta Strummers can perform at this venue next year.

The accompanying band for some of the  numbers was a subset of the Summerset Big Band, just enough players to form a "rock band".
