I have an Allison 545 behind a 5.9 Cummings that is on the way out. Slipping 4th& rev clutch. I can pick up a 540 reman for cheap, so can I use the 290 converter,my cable modulator and just change out the governor and valve body from the 545?
Any other differences to be concerned about, they look to take same rebuild kits.
