We're getting ready for the new (Fall/Winter) season for the Delta Strummers. Our new playlist will be published soon. Personally, I've been practicing our entire portfolio through the summer hiatus.
A week ago, I was also thrown a curve by a neighbor who mentioned "Today, we have family/friends from Ireland, and we're looking for appropriate songs". I volunteered to put together a portfolio of Irish songs and to play/sing for their guests. When we arrived, the Irish contingent was "well oiled" as we say in the UK, or "under the influence" as we say here in CA, so I didn't play or sing anything.
I continue to practice these songs, and now have a portfolio of Irish songs for the band (or a subset) to play/sing at those times we get asked to play for St. Patrick's Day.
