This probably won't mean much to anyone not in Wales during the 70's, 80's and 90's.
My all-time favorite Welsh folk singer/song writer was a valley boy named Max Boyce. His music was a combination of his fanaticism for Welsh rugby and his special form of self-deprecating humor that made fun of the Welsh culture, history and lifestyle (he was one of few who could get away with it.)
I've sung Max' many songs a capella for many years, but I've never been able to accompany myself, which he does with a guitar. Since I'm currently in guitar-learning mode, I recently dug out some of his songs, did a little re-arranging, and I'm learning to play them as I sing along.
Max is currently 71 years old, and still on the concert circuit, although he recently had a heart situation that caused him to cancel concerts for the rest of the year.
I stumbled across a U-tube video of a Welsh boys a capella choral group Only Boys Aloud who sang a 70th birthday tribute to Max (a medley of some of his songs) live on TV:

These same boys also appeared on the UK equivalent of AGT, Britain's Got Talent:

These boys are amazing, and hopefully will grow into the tradition of (adult) Welsh male voice 4-part choirs.
Enjoy!
