Can't seem to find a good way to backup email addresses using Thunderbird in a form that would be readable if I wanted to lookup and address from the file. Even using its print function, it takes 4 pages to print out about 20 addresses. Can I maybe copy and paste to a Open Office spreadsheet.
 
Open the Address Book, click on Tools, Export.  Change the file type to LDIF, CSV, or Tab delimited.

Just keep in mind if you have multiple address books, it will only export the selected book.  I don't know of any way to export all of the address books at one time.
