The emails finally got the attention of the dealer.

Not to be a smart aleck, but look it over top to bottom before you accept it.

That sounds great Don. Hope everything is fixed to your satisfaction.

I agree with Oscar Mike, take your time and go over it with a fine tooth comb. Don't just look at what they repaired but look over the entire rig. Things can happen to them when they sit on the dealers lot for sometime. People can run other things into them and cause damage where there was none before.

Let us know how it goes.

John, Butch,
Yes Thanks!!

FINE TOOTH COMB!!

For sure....

No word yet from the dealer.

I called Winnebago Customer Relations and spoke to a very knowledgeable fellow named Troy.
He said that Winnebago does not have to give permission to a certified repair shop if the diagnosis is complete.

So the Sirius XM antenna problem is cut-and-dried warranty repair according to Winnebago.

The cargo door damage is another matter altogether.

When Winnebago delivers a coach to a dealer, the dealer and the driver do a top-to-bottom walk around and if there is any damage, Winnebago pays for it to be repaired.

If the dealer does not catch it - the dealer has to pay for it.

As a registered Winnebago owner, Troy was able to look up my log sheet  for that serial number and said there was no report of rear cargo door damage. The dealer has to pay for it.

They better not be doing a Bondo job. The repair better consist of replacement of the damaged frame.

Hoorah!!

Got my View back Saturday!!
Sold my Rialta last Tuesday
My garage for the View going up first week in December!

 :) ;) :D ;D :p

I have a fair number of photos but they are all large.
I have to edit before posting - a real chore for me....
An automatic down scale for the forum would be great.
Nearly all cameras do 4-7 MEG but few have automatic down scale.

THE GOOD:
All items on the View appear to be fixed.
The Sirius XM antenna WAS bad like I told everyone at the dealership
The roof after the antenna repair DOES NOT LEAK
The stripped pantry door screws have been fixed
The real cargo hatch has been fixed.

THE BAD:
I supplied the the replacement Sirius XM antenna.
The dealership did not comp me.
The rear cargo door was not level at first but the technician leveled it at my insistence.
They forgot to hook up the rear view camera; I had to go back right after I drove off the dealership lot.

If you like gadgets, the View is really pretty well decked out:

Touch screen dash "infortainment"

2 DVD players
2 AM/FM radios
2 flat screen TV's
10 interior speakers, including a sub woofer!, 2 exterior speakers
1000 Watt inverter
45 Amp intelligent converter battery charger

Guest "aero-bed" with fast inflate and deflate
The guest bed also has a neat silent "stay inflate" overnight feature.
Auto start generator
SUPER FAST recovery LP / electric hot water tank.
Wall thermostat control. (cool / heat pump) (heat also gas)

Got 17 MPG driving from Jacksonville to my home near the Kennedy Space Center!

As soon as I get around to editing, I will post pictures.

Hey Don,

I was getting ready to post and ask if you had you rig yet.

Glad to hear it all looks good and you are happy with it.

Now it is time to get that thing loaded and hit the road and enjoy what you have paid for instead of it setting at the dealers. At least you live where you can use it all year long. I have ours winterized for right now as we are having unseasonable cold weather here. We are think we are going to have to leave it winterized if we leave in December till we get down on the coast and then I'll be able to use all of the systems.

These darn crazy polar vortex's are the pits. We moved from NW Montana (right near the west entrance to Glacier National Park) to try and get away from some of the cold weather and snow and it has now followed us here. I guess our next move is going to be to Mexico as even all of the southern states are getting cold also. We are running about 20 to 30 degrees below our norms.

Anyway congrats on getting your RV time for fun now.

If you are using a Windows machine, Microsoft Paint should be included.  Your pictures are way too large, they should be about 800 pixels wide.

We are exploring the possibility of a Smart Car.

That to me seems to be a great combination, a Smart Car and a View. I like it.

You might want to read this article in the forum library on various ways to resize pictures for uploading.

Hi John,
Got some weird results from paint.
Most of my images start at 10 Meg. Paint seems to mess up the colors. (splitter done with paint)
It would be nice to have scale down built in to the forum attach app.

I will start using my smart phone which is only 3 meg
Next post will be done that way.
I "open in new tab" and the pictures look OK

test image resized with resizer - thanks Ned

CONGRATULATIONS, IS VERY VERY NICE

Hi!  My advise about Dealer Service Centers is the same as advise about Hospitals.  Stay away from them, unless you have to.  Make a list & go to Forest City (Winnebago Factory), and get all your problems taken care of properly.  We have a 2014View that we ordered new -online- from an Iowa dealer that had the best deal.  We flew out from Fla, drove off & never looked back.  I fixed some small issues , and learned to live with some other issues, and accumulated 27K miles in 15 months.  I have never had it in an RV dealership, and do not plan to take it in-unless I have to.

My experience with dealers-they will break as much as they fix-

Motorhomes are problem prone, but, they are the best thing going for traveling & seeing our great country and all the best folks in it.  Motorhomes are worth the trouble.

PS- I owned a new 2008 Smart- traded it in on a Fiat after 2 years- Fiat much better.

If that is one of those midget looking cars,  in our area those are know as Obama Cars.  Got to see a photo of one in a somewhat minor to mid level accident - not a pretty site.

"Obama cars"....not sure what that means or what that has to do with the discussion...
Moving on....

We have a 2012 Honda Fit 5 speed that we previously towed behind our 2010 WGO View...great toad, ~2600 lbs, good gas mileage and an unbelievable amount of storage capacity. Unfortunately the 2015's are not towable.
Good luck with your search and enjoy your View!
