Hi RVers. My Atwood hot water tank has a 15/16" plug (cpvc). That's the size socket that fits the plug. I've looked on the internet, Camping World, etc and can't find one for a spare. If your plug fails in some way, of course NO HOT WATER. A little deal becomes a big deal. Has anyone out there found this size? I appreciate you letting me know WHERE you found it instead of going on a snipe hunt for one. This forum is great for saving time and money. You'd be doing our community a huge favor if you can help on this one.

Thank you!

I believe you'll find that it's a 1/2" NPT pipe plug available most anywhere like hardware stores, Home Depot and Lowe's. You can't go by the size of the hex where your socket goes.

Our RV dealer has them in packages of 2, or any PVC 1/2" pipe plug will also work.  :)

I too have an Atwood. and I can tell you it IS a 1/2 inch IPT (iron pipe thread) plug.. in fact when I drain I used to screw in an extension tube to keep it from draining onto the inside of the compartment, 1/2 inch Iron Pipe (removed once drained.)

I ended up putting in a drain-cock (They tell you no metal plugs but, it is a well-teflon wrapped metal plug) this one has a big mouth (not the little radiator type) I slip half inch pipe over it when I drain as well.

The wrench size is unimportant as long as the thread it right.  Either of these will work fine.
