If anybody here is considering trying to take advantage of an unlimited data loophole, then you only have until Nov. 13 to do it.
Old Verizon unlimited data plans can be "grandfathered" by acquiring from an existing customer and then going through an Assumption of Liability process. Verizon has been allowing this for awhile but have put the kabash on it after an Apple glitch that gave away iPhone 6's with unlimited data. Apple and Verizon realized the glitch quickly but not before hundreds of people scooped up the plans.
I just bought one of those grandfathered plans on ebay for 99 cents a few days ago (Literally some idiots are trying to sell them for $500) Verizon is wise to this process and have given Nov. 13 as a cutoff for allowing Assumption of Liability plans to include unlimited data.
If anybody here has been considering this as a way to get unlimited data I wanted to give you the heads up to act quickly. The actual process is pretty easy but know that even though this option is still available, Verizon will try to tell you that it isn't. Argue with them and tell them that you know Nov. 13 is the cutoff. The unlimited data plans are $30/month but you have to add a calling plan as well. The cheapest one is $15/month so $45/month all in if you're looking for unlimited data to run an independent hotspot for your wireless internet (just put the SIM card of the phone attached to the number into your hotspot)
