Hello,

My fiance and I are looking for some workamper opportunities in the central Florida area.  I've gone over the postings of the usual offerings.  Was wondering if anyone had wind of opportunities via word of mouth or other?

Us, old rig, dog, mid 40's multi-talented couple.

Thanks for any tips!

Best thing to do when looking in a specific area is cold calling/emailing.  The worst they can say is no.  Finding work in Florida is DIFFICULT at best.  Seems there is a waiting list at most places until someone gets sick or dies (unfortunately).  We have sent countless resumes, made many phone calls and even pop into campgrounds asking if they hired workampers and if they were hiring. Again, the worse they can say is no.
Workamper.com is the best resource out there on the web.  Something we have learned is that you can't get to excited about it because you never know what may come.  We came to Florida without work last winter and then someone called us on our resume.  The key is to be flexible.  But project yourself as well.  Typically campgrounds will hang on to resumes and you can always follow up with them after the season gets started because people leave, get sick or find something better along the way.

This is another good one to check.

Tough part is getting that first one, then you can build on it.

Are you expecting to get paid or just get free camp site?  If you are not looking for pay check out Caloosahatchee Regional Park near Ft. Myers. http://www.volsoft.com/WebAssistant/cgi1/WebAssistant.dbw?Action=5&Jobkey=%20%20%20%2036&DataSet=01&CustomerId=576259
