Winegard is introducing a new model of its Rayzor HD tv antenna that will automatically find the strongest local stations. It's a dome-enclosed VHF/UHF antenna. See:

interesting, but just based on the initial description it seems that it could still be less than ideal......
I see it like this...it locks into the direction of strongest signal.....
but the channel I'm interested in is coming from a different direction..... kinda seems like the auto lock feature is no good to me in this scenario....
 
It says you can reject that and search again, but I have no idea of the details. A satellite dome typically has that capability, and similar logic ought to work.

Perhaps you can research it and let us know - the manual ought to be available soon.
