I have an inverter to power the 110v tv when not on shore power. Both the 110 and 12v outets are located behind the tv,and kind of a pain to change. Not impossible, just a minor inconvenience.
This inverter only used for tv and possibly a dvd player in the future.

Is there any reason not to simply leave the tv plugged in to the inverter and the inverter connected to the 12v outlet all the time, whether or not I'm plugged into shore power?

No reason of any consequence that I'm aware of.  The inverter uses a small amount of power whether the TV is on or not, so you may want to shut it (the inverter) off when not on shore power and not using the inverter.  But, unless you are dry camping for several days, even that precaution is probably not really an issue.
