Greetings, everyone! At work we have a 2012 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 that has been converted into a mobile medical lab. The vehicles is equipped with an Out Back inverter.

PROBLEM: The interior lights in the rear of the vehicle work when the ignition is on, but they do not work when connected to shore power. Any ideas why this would happen? Thanks in advance!

Since this is a custom conversion, are those lights 12vdc or 120vac (and thus running via the inverter)?  RV interior lights are normally 12vdc, but this special purpose rig may not. Nor can we be sure how the shore power was wired in, or where this inverter gets it power.

Normally there would be battery power for 12v interior use that is separate from the engine 12v system, and that battery would power the inverter as well. Apparently you are getting power only via the engine 12v system (key on).
