Leaving the DC area in the next couple of days. Looking for warmer weather. Plan on driving down hwy 95. looking for recommendations on overnight stops.
Planning on starting our exploration of Florida in the Jacksonville, St Augustine area. Any recommendations on camping/RV sites. We are guesstimating a month or more to look the state over, enjoy its beauty and warmth.
Thanks

Wally,

I would avoid living in an RV in the Jacksonville area though there are a number of pretty good campgrounds near St. Augustine.  Were you planning on staying in that area and exploring in your car are are you thinking of moving your RV every couple of days?

You may want to identify a few good parks in various parts of Florida and use them as a base from which to explore, because RV parks tend to become filled as you approach December through April.

What type of RV equipment are you traveling with?

We have a 30" 5 er. Our thought was to spend up to a week  or so at each location and use the truck to explore with. Looks like a bunch of RV parks in and around Jacksonville but we are not committed to the area. Our immediate goal is to get out of the cold region and find a place to settle in before Thanksgiving.
