I am trying to determine if I can take on the job of replacing my rear shocks for new Koni's. I did the fronts already without too much difficulty.

The rears look a little tighter space wise, and I hope that the rear tires don't have  to come off to get to the upper bolts.

Anyone else accomplish this and can offer any tips? The rig is on a Freightliner XC 37' chassis.

Sarge, I did it on our old Oshkosh/freightliner , just before I went on oxygen. It was a bugger and If I remember right I had to use a pipe wrench in one spot because I didn't want to take the tires off to get to the backside of the bolt. If I could do it as sick as I was I bet you can. I took several hours and some blood. Not near as easy as the front ones......good luck..Will

From my experience on changing them on my previous Ford chassis, PB Blaster will be your best friend. I broke a 1 1/8" wrench trying to loosen the bolt on one of mine.
