I have taken my 2wd convention van  which just has a limited slip differential and all terrain tires into places in the Jefferson national park. Other people wouldn't try.    My winch does come in handy thow. That at it being a 22 year old junker.   Its low budget camping/ hunting.  Beats sleeping on the cold wet hard ground
