Workhorse Custom Chassis exited the RV business after the twin debacle of Navistar's fumbling and loss of the GMC 8.1L engine. Last year investors formed the Workhorse Group and bought the brand and production plant from Navistar and now they are getting back into the motorhome chassis business again. That should provide competition to the Ford F53 gas chassis and hopefully trigger a new round of competitive improvements.
Workhorse will have both a 6 liter V8 and a big 8.8L honker, and hopefully a chassis and transmission worthy of them. The press release doesn't have much detail but that will probably be forthcoming as details emerge.
