We have a 1980 prowler. It is in need of work but first order is resealing the outside corners. I've read not to use caulking to use tape? Would water proof duck tape work? We are leaving in two weeks for a trip so need to get this one corner done. In the process of removing all the old caulking now.

Remove the corner piece/molding entirely then remove all the old putty. Go to the RV store and get some butyl tape. Lay it on the siding front/back and the sides. Then reinstall the corner molding.  As you're tightening the screws, the tape will ooze out. Slowly tighten the screws a little at a time and go over all the screws several times until they are all tight.
