Hi...I never owned a truck camper, been in one, or camped in one. Saw an old fixer upper for sale at a very reasonable price. I have a 2006 Sierra 1500. The fellow that is selling it used tie down straps to move it to his house, strapping to his hitch at the rear, and frame at the front. From doing some research, this doesn't look like a very good idea, am I correct? Even for a short move.

Not the best way to do it, especially with the small inch and a half wide straps. But, as the saying goes, "Don't knock success." Before buying this camper, check the weight and make sure your pickup can handle it. There are a lot of advantages to  truck camping.

And, Welcome to the forum!!
