as luck might have it sometimes it works out... he was open and had some time on Tuesday so we stopped and had the tires checked.  They rotated some and checked the balance and sure nuff the Driver's side front was off, about 4 oz.  Now it rides on the rear and the old rear rides on the front and everything has become noticeably smoother.  Even the sun came out.

Thanks once more to the Bertrams for pulling this together and being so gracious.

I love it when a plan comes together and the sun comes out! And you are very welcome  :)....want to co-host a rally in Taos/Santa Fe?  8)

Might be worth a conversation or two?  In contrast to many RVF rallies, where there are NP's or other major facilities/features, this area, while very interesting to visit, strikes me as more of an individualistic venue instead of a group venue.  Some groups do come, usually united by an interest in geology, history, healing/medicine, arts, old cars or some other speciality while others come and enjoy the food, outdoor recreation, galleries, museums, weather or whatever.  There's little that compares to the "concentrated" Yellowstone experience for example or to the off-road/NP mecca surrounding Moab.  There are NP's in NM... Bandelier, Carlsbad, Bosque del Apache Bird Refuge, WhiteSands, Volcanos, Historical Sites (Chaco and the Pueblos), Santa Fe/Taos as old Spanish settlements from the 1600's and plenty of outdoor space but it tends to be really spread out and relatively small.  There are numerous casinos, golf courses and a growing performing arts scene though.  It's not trivial to get here either!  Also, there are no large RV parks even remotely similar to those around Moab, YNP, Zion, Grand Canyon or many places in Arizona.  The FMCA holds a large event at the Farmington Fairgrounds though and ABQ hosts the fall Hot Air Balloon Rally so there are a few big places.  The main RV repair shops are in ABQ, 140 miles away.  Red River has some large parks but I've never been to see them. They are hosting 30,000 Harleys this weekend! Plus I guess you could do a Quartzite type dry camp rally somewhere?

I'm no fan of surveys but maybe we need a way to gage the interest level... or not?  There's no point in putting a lot of work into this if only a few folks are interested...  they could come individually or in small groups if interested.

Very soon many of us will look back fondly on that rain and cool weather.

I didn't mind the weather one bit.  The experience was amazing and I hope I don't sound too "mushy" but Eric and I especially value the new friendships we made.  A special thank you to Kim and all who helped orchestrate the event.

The only thing we want to know is when and where is the next Rally!
