I read Jeff's post about there trip to Alaska and was going to comment(old post) about it and ask is it better to travel up and drive back or do it backwards. Seems like the ultimate adventure and I bet the trip is expensive ? Fuel and food? I guess time to ask for info from the state and towns along the way. Which places are best and which one are just money pits? On bucket list for sure and all should do it at least once. Viking 4700.00 5 days Bellingham to Whitter  Going to go read again. Thanks All

If you are thinking of taking the ferry up or back, depart or return to Prince Rupert, CA. much cheaper.
