2012 Thor Challenger DT...Questions...first motorhome

We just bought a Thor Challenger DT 37 foot motor home (Gas V10), it has 4900 miles,,,,now we are wondering about a good aftermarket warranty. Is the extended warranty a good idea? What companies are the best for most covered and payouts? Also we are first time motorhome owners is there anything major we should be aware of? We looked and drove many until finding this one, (a little late) but Thor ratings??? Good??? Issues???
 
Much has been written here about extended warranties, so may I suggest you use SEARCH (button on menu bar, NOT the one in upper right corner) and read up on them?

Coverage depends very much of the specific contract rather than the insurer. Most of the insurers have dozens of different different contracts, tailored to whatever the seller wants to offer in terms of price and duration. You have to read carefully...

None of them cover as much as the sales people would have you believe - there are a myriad of exclusions in even the broadest coverage. They are nothing at all like the manufacturer's bumper-to-bumper warranty. It's insurance, so the idea is that everybody pays in so that the few who have major problems get some compensation. Many people will get back less than they put in, so that some can get more.
