New to RV ing, we took our first trip from NY state to TX, in April.  Is it normal for the RV to be so loud?  We couldn't even play the radio or talk to each other while driving.  Any way to make it tolerable?

A quick guess...speaking from experience.

Take a close look at the Doghouse (Engine cover. It must be in perfect position (all the way shut against the front edge and around the bottom. Even a small gap will allow engine noise to seep into the cabin--- loudly.  Easily fixed if you have the slide-back type with the allen wrench mid center at the rear. Ensure that the base of the cover is flat on the floor when pushing forward.

As mentioned check the fit of the cover. I also put additional insulation on my 97 Adventurer and it helped with the noise and the heat.
