Today forum member Tim Lassen took me fly fishing on McCoy Creek in the Caribou Mountain range, Idaho. Leaving Hwy 89 near Alpine, WY it was 20 miles on a graveled Forest Service road, a mile on a dirt & mud road, then a short hike down the hillside.
I didn't have my wading gear, and waded for a few hours in long pants and sturdy shoes, casting a fly all the way. That creek water was pretty cold (brrr).
Tim was kind enough to loan me the fishing gear, as all mine is at home. We had a fun day, catching small trout. Tim and I practice catch-and-release, so we weren't looking for "large keepers".
