We are considering purchasing a 2006 Roadtrek with a Mercedes engine. It has 68,000 miles. What are the potential servicing problems with a Mercedes engine? A local RV servicing company said that only Mercedes can service them which is a potential problem while on the road. Any comments would be appreciated.  Thanks for your input.

Well, you can't drop in at the local Ford dealer, so yes, engine or transmission repairs would in most places require a Mercedes dealer or foreign vehicle specialist repair shop. Routine services like oil changes and such should be no problem most anywhere.  The Sprinter van the Roadtrek is based on are common enough, so they aren't a total mystery to repair shops.

Repairs to the RV "house" are not something Mercedes has anything to do with anyway, so most of your service needs are probably going to be RV repairs or routine maintenance (oil, chassis lube, etc.).
