This is not a good time for travel through south central British Columbia. There are two fires burning near Oliver on highway 97, one north and one south of town. Highway 3 is closed between  Osoyoos and Midway due to two more, one a big sucker at Rock Creek. Smoke in the area is reducing visibility. Best to cross at Midway or Grand Forks to head east or take I-5 to the Peace Arch or Pacific crossing.
We are about 130 miles north of Osoyoos, it is clear this morning but smoke has been heavy this week.
