I'm in the market for a tow vehicle and have tentatively decided on the Ford F250. I need the long Bed so the Extended Cab has a wheel base or 158 in, while the Crew Cab is 172 in. would the longer wheel base make a big difference in towing. I am looking at a 34 ft trailer, in the 9,000 LB range.

Thanks,

Dale

The longer w/b should give a slightly smoother ride. If you are not used to a long rig remember to swing a little wider during right turns.

The longer the wheel base, the larger the turning radius. You just have to get used your vehicle and know it's limitations.  Not a hard process. The only thing you will notice in towing is make a little wider turns as stated, backing is where you will see a larger difference.  I haven't looked at the stats recently, but Dodge used to have the sharpest turning radius.
