Ron  There is a Flair MH at PPL southside of Houston the Scotty would appreciate an eyeball giving to it    It's up on another thread.

Tom

We've spent time in CA City a number of times, was unaware of a campground there other than at the airport. I am assuming that you were going to take 14 south and work your way from Palmdale to I-15, 215 and I-10. There are 2-3 campgrounds on CA 58 between 14 and US 395, then could have gone south on 395. Anyways too late now.

Have you been corresponding with Paul too much recently ;D ;D

Bernie  It's probably that stiff riding Monaco that's shaking his marbles around and he can't think straight.    At least now we know he's got something to blame it on  LOL

Bernie,

The CG was Sierra Trails RV & Mobile Home Park. From Hwy 58 on the Mojave side of Tehachepi, it's 6 miles north on Hwy 14. We were headed to Las Vegas, so I-215/I-10 would have been the wrong direction for us.

I can't begin to compete with Paul  ;D

Not sure anyone can compete with Paul.  Better statement might be no one wants to compete with Paul  LOL  He's got the prize all by his lonesome.  Must have something to do with driving on the wrong side of the road or bed. He needs to turn around and have a restart cuz I think he fouled out.

We'll have to check it out the next time in the area. I forgot that you were heading to LV, but then Barstow was right on the way.

A couple of photos from our mini-rally in Las Vegas:

  • Al talks with Chris and Doc in Al's Monaco Signature.
  • Dinner at a LV eatery. Anti-clockwise from lower right, Lisa, Al, Judy, Jerry, Dave, Ardra, Vera, Doc, Chris.

Sure is a good looking group  but who are all those old guys in the pics.  Just so the gals don't put lumps on my head, cuz  I might  Just might be able to out run the guys.  Good pics  Thanks

Bernie,

We've never stayed there. A couple of friends stayed there en route to the Monaco & FMCA rallies earlier this year. They reported that it wasn't great, but OK for one night.

Tom

Couldn't be as bad as the Cal City Airport CG :-\

We spent four days over new year at Laughlin, NV. We're not gamblers, but the attraction for us was some great company with several forum members and other friends, some of whom are wannabes. One of the side trips was to the small town of Oatman for lunch and then a tour of the Gold Road Mine a couple of miles away. Being in the mountain with a sign pointing straight up to Route 66 was interesting.

New years day we had brunch at the home of some friends who live in Bullhead City.

A couple of nights at Havasu RV resort and I came down with a sinus infection (happens every time I come to the desert). Fortunately, I came prepared this time with antibiotics and I'm getting better by the day.

Today we drove down Hwy 95 to I-10 at Quartzsite - I couldn't entice the others in our caravan to stop at QZ for the night. Then on to Beaudry RV resort; An interesting concept - a large, nice RV park at a large RV dealership. Of course, they offer you the "VIP tour of RVs", hoping to entice you to upgrade.

Tom:

If you are headed east on I-10 give us a heads up, a group of us youcould meet for lunch at Flying J in west Phoenix or some other place convienent.

Tom  we stayed at the Beaudry Resort last year in Dec on our way to PEM and was very impressed with the place.  Wife said this place looks to be 50 to 75 Bucks a night   I didn't ask  Hand the girl our credit card that we use for RVing only and was shocked when it stated $19.95 + tax.  Stayed an extra night then.  You are speaking of the one in Tucson aren't you?

Just got around to reading this thread... I spent a night in Barstow Tuesday/Wed, (Stopped at the flying-J  Should have gassed up)

Nice stop

Trip out of Vegas to Palmdale CA (where I'm currently parked) computer said 3:47 for the 250 mile trip (Looks like 5 hours to me) backups due to construction and accidents added to that five hours.

The good news is that a semi (KLEMM if I've not mispelled the company name) carrying US mail was running ahead of me at exactly the same speed I set my cruise at so I had a "Front door" to warn me of dangers on the road.

Stopped briefly at the Primm Valley Casinos, shook hands with the Mail driver and another (tanker) used the "Facilities" and got some info about an upcomming show I plan on catching next month.

Then on to Palmdale (only a bit more traffic) where I found the Moose no problem (Q and 31St E) and here we are

On to a sing-event Saturday, meet another Compuserver user Sun, on to Indio tue and the ralley on Wed

Hi Jeff, would have loved to do that but we're already in Tuscon and head further east in the morning.

Yes, that's the one Shayne. They have a decent restaurant on site too.

We had a great meal there  It was so good the wife wanted to know if I went to the kitchen and cooked it.  I just grinned and never said a word    Wanted no more lumps at that time.

Shayne,

In season the sites with hot tub were $60/night. You weren't too far off. :)
